Progress was slow, but with such spectacular scenery coupled with a wild ride we all found ourselves hanging on, laughing and awestruck by the sights! The Zodiacs gathered within shouting distance for a quick geology talk by one of our naturalists and then broke away to explore further north along the outside coastline of Isla Magdalena.
Around yet another headland, we heard the sound of many barking California sea lions. There was an enormous haul-out area on a steep and rugged beach. Slowly each Zodiac approached for a closer look, the drivers watching the waves and then timing a closer run towards the beach. After some good views, all the Zodiacs turned and began the long surf south towards La Entrada and the Sea Bird, which was at anchor awaiting our return.
