How close can you get to a booby? On the Island of Genovesa, located in the north region of the Galapagos Islands, one can find boobies by the thousands. The island does not have other inhabitants, as land reptiles and introduced mammals are not present. Actually, it is known as Bird Island. Here the boobies find their life totally free of worries coming from other species. This lack of concern for eons of time made the boobies the most unaware and carefree of the birds in the Galapagos. Red-footed boobies will nest anywhere in Darwin Bay, our visiting site. Trees are chosen for this and the limit for us, having a look, comes on the rugged terrain and the vegetation more than on their concern.
