Isabela Island

Right before crossing the Equator line, King Neptune came on board. He also brought a few pirates and a beautiful nymph from his blue kingdom. Part of the ritual was to drink iguana blood, and to kiss either Neptune's webbed feet or his wife. Every one preferred the feet as the wife had too many scales and smelled like a tuna.

But it wasn't all! After baptizing those who were crossing the line for the first time at sea, the king sent a great pod of bottle-nosed dolphins to escort us during the panga ride at Punta Vicente Roca.

It is spring tide, so we had huge waves. We rode them as if we were sea cowboys, enjoying the splendor of a tuff cone crowded with life and the magnificence of a rough ocean with cetacean friends.
