Floreana Island

It is February 19, 2001, we have an air temperature in the high eighties and the water is 78 degrees Fahrenheit. All the secrets this island can hide are showed to us without restraint. Little by little sea lion babies keep on growing, as the hot season comes along. They are playful and unaware of the rough times ahead in their adult life. Most sea birds have served their breeding time, and their chicks are now in the trend of learning to survive. The island is getting greener and greener. And all these things we meet just along the way.

We went snorkeling this morning on Champion Island, where all the above joined us in a very pleasant manner. Fish were jumping and the living was easy. Even the snorkel looked unnecessary, so I removed my mask and revealed my true self: that's what I saw.
