Española Island

"This is my towel!"says our guest to the young sea lion thief.
"But I want to sunbathe and play right here." replies the baby.
"Go and get your own towel. The Polaris staff brought plenty of them…"
"I am too tired to walk any further, let's just go halves" smiles this 5 to 6 month old creature.
"Ok, keep it, but do not drink my water, that would be too much!"

And then, the man and the sea lion lay down together on the beach, one next to the other. With no fears and no stress, delighting, as good mammals do, in the same joys: the salty breeze, the silence and the warm sun.

Many guests came closer and took pictures of them, as they represented the best Galapagos paradigm: sharing. We share the space and the time with the native and endemic species of the islands. One day, with a sustainable management, we'll also learn to share the food supplies.

The afternoon was passing by. I sat down on a towel myself, and then a mockingbird came to my ear to whisper the story I just wrote here.
