Once aboard the Polaris and after enjoying cold drinks or a glass of Champagne, our guests attend a briefing about life on board. Boat drill follows, then lunch. When everyone has settled in, we lower the Zodiacs and go for a ride.
We move along a group of rocks in front of Cerro Dragon, which is nicknamed "Little Venice." That name really fits the place. It has rocks crowded with vegetation, from mangroves to prickly pear cactus, all in between clear blue channels.
This Saturday we had an exceptional ride. We saw golden rays, spotted eagle rays, marbled sting rays, reef sharks and the most spectacular sighting: a couple of land iguanas resting on the mangroves. That doesn't happen every day! It was a great start for another wonderful week in Darwin's islands.
