Bartolome and Santiago Islands
This week’s expedition around the Galapagos has come almost to an end. Yet, we are glad to know that the expectations of our guests were greatly surpassed. Day after day, everyone on board came to realize how special these islands are. Today, with a little bit of sadness, we enjoyed the last two outings. On each of them we had great sightings. In the morning, we had an incredibly close encounter with a juvenile Galapagos hawk while we were walking on the beach at Bartolome Island. It almost seems as if this juvenile hawk has become a regular weekly attraction. Without any warning, it landed in front of our guests, and began devouring a puffer fish that had washed up on the shore.
