Cerro Dragon, NW Santa Cruz Island

Just a few lines to say we’ve begun. Blustery winds made white-caps, but between the mangroves and lava coast of Venecia Islet we had calm seas. Turquoise waters held golden rays and sharks, while blue-footed boobies rode the currents of air overhead to and from their destinations (who knows where). Sea lions slept the sleep of the innocent on rough rocks and ledges. The islands begin their enchantment.
