Espanola Island

We are back, and we are so happy to be back in the islands. Everything is the same way it was before the Polaris went to drydock, 5 weeks ago. It is as if all the sea lions, iguanas and creatures from the Galapagos have been waiting for our return.

This morning on Espanola, the sea had the deepest blue color, which matched perfectly the light blue feet of hundreds of boobies courting and taking care of their chicks. Sea lions were busy with their newborns, while a yellow-crowned night heron caught a crab right in front of us.

Galapagos is still a “Never Never Land”, where time is frozen and creatures of all kinds live together in harmony. The real world seems really far away.

On the “Encantadas” our eyes are overwhelmed by the view of these innocent animals. The sounds they make together with the whispering wind fulfill our spirit. The Galapagos Archipelago is the right place on earth to feel tranquil and content.
