Espanola Island
It’s late at night and all of our guests are having fun on their last night with us. It’s true that there’s always something amazing to be seen in Galápagos, and of course today was another wonderful day of excursions.
We started a new day on this beautiful island by seeing a lot of sea lions on the beach. It’s always delightful to see how people manage to join science, the contact with nature and their love for nature.
It was really cute to see these little sea lions coming out from the water and playing with each other until they got completely covered with the organic sand from Bahia Garder. It was difficult to see them at a distance, since they blend very well with this white beach. And there was something else waiting for us in the excursion on Punta Suarez. We were moved by the presence of one of the most beautiful birds from the Archipelago, a waved albatross with its chick right in the middle of the trail. We noticed that both of them felt a little apprehensive because of our presence, so we decided to stay still until we were sure that none of them could be affected. We were so lucky to see them, since they stay only for several months a year in Galápagos, and of course it was one of the best experiences of the guests. We were so lucky to get great pictures of this baby, and a few steps later, there was a couple of waved albatrosses executing their mating display. We felt that we could stay there forever, but the sun was coming down and we didn’t want to lose this beautiful sunset. By the way, we were the last ones coming back from the excursion.
It’s always good to see that at the end of the trip everybody is eager to do something to protect nature.
