Today Caledonian Starguests are enjoying a day at sea in the calm South Atlantic Ocean. We have been treated to a number of interesting lectures - one by geologist Wayne Ranney regarding the latest theories on how people may have come to the Americas, and the other by natural historian Lyall Watson on new ideas in human evolution (we also watched the classic movie African Queen). With mostly sunny skies and the temperature a nice 74 degrees, many of us are reading out on deck. At about 11:30 this morning 50 bottle-nose dolphins came over to our bow and checked out our ship. Here we can see Captain Cardestig and second officer Stefan Sörenson looking at the dolphins from the bridge. The officers are always on the lookout for marine creatures of any kind, and they rarely disappoint.
