Today Delfin II visited two incredible places located along the mighty Ucayali River one of the main tributaries of the Amazon. Early in the morning, our guests awoke to a fragrant cup of coffee up in the open lounge. The sun hadn’t risen yet, but we could already spot some activity near the boat—pink and grey river dolphins engaging into some kind of game, tickling one another with bubbles.
Clavero lake is the home to many lagoon birds, and as soon as we got close, egrets, plovers, lapwings and striated herons began to reveal themselves among the lush and green vegetation.
In the afternoon, with amazing blue skies, we departed to visit Supay Creek. With the expertise and sharp eyesight of our skiff drivers and naturalist, our guests enjoyed observing three-toed sloths, black-collared hawks, pink and grey river dolphins, and the nearly invisible nocturnal owl monkeys blending in with the tree trunks.
