Taylor Schobel

Growing up in Chicago, and spending her childhood summers in northwest Wisconsin, Taylor was always curious when exploring the natural world. After moving to southern Spain and traveling to places like southeast Alaska, Mexico and the Galápagos Islands, her curiosity grew, and she decided to study biology. Taylor graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.Sc. in Molecular Environmental Biology and a concentration in animal health and behavior.

She spent years researching reproductive neuroendocrinology in bats and zebra finches and was the first person to observe a specific hormone in bats. Other field work has led her to the north coast of California, observing mating behaviors of northern elephant seals, and swimming the south fork of the Eel River for a three-month intensive fish study.

Inspired by a love for science, Taylor now works as a naturalist to infect the world with an appreciation for nature and conservation.
