Eza King
Eza grew up outside of Washington, D.C. with parents that encouraged her to explore the United States extensively before adventuring abroad. After completing degrees in environmental science and economics from the University of Virginia she moved into a grass hut on the edge of the Sahara desert in Senegal, West Africa to serve as an environmental education volunteer for the Peace Corps. This experience deeply influenced her perspectives on community, sustainability and hospitality, and fundamentally altered the way she approaches traveling in unfamiliar places.
In 2006 Eza joined Lindblad to feed her fascination for discovering how the creatures and cultures of the planet play with the natural world. She has spent most of her adult life as an educator, helping people become comfortable with the unknown so that they can experience their surroundings more fully and joyously. In addition to her native English, Eza speaks French and Wolof and is currently learning Thai.
Having always been curious about the peoples, beliefs, and rituals of Southeast Asia, Eza decided to immerse herself in the rich culture and history of the region while pursuing graduate studies in sustainable development at Chiang Mai University in Northern Thailand, where she currently lives. She looks forward to sharing her passion for this magnificent region of the world and the ancient and vibrant cultures that thrive there. Her spirit of adventure, kindhearted nature and years of expedition experience will ensure that you have an enjoyable and unforgettable expedition.
